{"id":1827,"date":"2014-07-30T04:34:03","date_gmt":"2014-07-30T02:34:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/skruzny.ch\/toronto\/?p=1827"},"modified":"2014-07-31T10:03:54","modified_gmt":"2014-07-31T08:03:54","slug":"james-michael","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/skruzny.ch\/toronto\/Archive\/1827","title":{"rendered":"James &#8211; Michael &#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nein nein, das sind nicht meine Liebhaber in Toronto &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>James ist eigentlich die\u00a0<em>St. James Cathedral<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Die 1797 gegr\u00fcndete anglikanische Kirchgemeinde geh\u00f6rt zur \u00e4ltesten in der Stadt.\u00a0Die <em>St. James Cathedral<\/em> ist die dritte\u00a0\u00a0Kirche dieser Kirchgemeinde \u00a0an dieser Stelle (die erste Holzkirche wurde durch eine gr\u00f6ssere aus Stein ersetzt, die aber nach wenigen Jahren bereits niederbrannte). \u00a0Der Sakralbau welcher 1844 vollendet wurde, war lange Zeit das h\u00f6chste Geb\u00e4ude in Toronto. Aktuell geh\u00f6rt\u00a0\u00a0das h\u00f6chste\u00a0Bauwerk in der Stadt der\u00a0\u00e4ltesten Bank Kanadas, der BMO (<em>Bank of Montreal<\/em>). Deshalb konnte ich sowohl aussen als auch innen ausser Netzte und Ger\u00fcste nicht viel sehen.<\/p>\n<p>Die <em>St. Michael&#8217;s Cathedral<\/em> aus dem Jahre 1848 geh\u00f6rt der r\u00f6misch-katholischen Kirche an. Das Erzbistum Toronto wurde am 17. Dezember 1841 gebildet und\u00a0deren\u00a0erste eingesetzte Bischof\u00a0hiess <em>Michael Power<\/em>. Sie nennen ihre\u00a0Besucher oder besser gesagt Mitglieder schlicht und einfach Gemeinschaft.
